The Thousand Islands region of the St. Lawrence Seaway is our key destination for the summer season 2015. After month-long sailing stops at Lake Monroe, FL and Lake George, NY, we arrived in Clayton, NY in the heart of the Thousand Islands region July 1. We'll spend the summer sailing the St. Lawrence, crusing the islands and the N.Y. and Canadian coastlines. then in September we will slowly make our way back down to Florida for the winter.

One of the real jewels of the northeastern US is the Thousand Islands region of the St.Lawrence Seaway as it flows out from the northeast corner of Lake Ontario. 1,864 islands range in size from over 40 square miles to smaller islands occupied by a single residence, or uninhabited outcroppings of rocks that are only home to migratory waterfowl. This is a boater's paradise and one of the world's premier sailing locales. In the early 20th century, this region became widely known as a summer resort. Wealthy and middle-class summer residents built summer homes. Some masonry "castles" remain as international landmarks. This is a collection of famous photos from the web.
